When designing your new kitchen most people consider the style and colour first priority. However designing a kitchen that is practical and suits your everyday lifestyle is essential.

Your priority may be utilising your kitchen as a place to entertain and socialise or to accommodate the needs of a busy family life.

Whatever your lifestyle and requirements you should think carefully about the integral features of your fitted kitchen and consider the options available.

Drawers – These are versatile. You may choose to incorporate utensil sections or peg boards to store plates and dishes instead of in cupboards. You may even decide on wire racks to store plates instead of piling them up. Deep drawers with sections are also useful and there are a multitude of options available.

Cupboards – Different depth shelving, or pull out larder units are great storage options. You may decide on spinning racks for ease of accessibility into corner units or other corner pull out options, or even corner drawers.

Wine racks – These look great in any kitchen and it is always useful to have a bottle at hand to unwind after a busy day!!!

Spice racks – These can be integrated within cupboards in the kitchen, or you may opt for a narrow pull out spice rack or they can be wall mounted as a feature in your kitchen.

Glass fronted cupboards –  Great to show off your favourite glasses or other glassware. Inset lighting into the top of the unit will really add a sparkle!!!

Shelves – Great for cookery books and other items you would like on display. Having your favourite cook books to hand will be convenient when meal planning and entertaining.
